Marvel Alliance 3 unveils Marvel characters such as Spider-Man, Groot, Captain America, Wolverine, Hulk, or Wasp who as a team fight Thanos along with his allies The Black Order, who try to obtain the Infinity Stones scattered across the earth by Star-Lord. If he succeeds he will get access to power that will allow him to rule the Universe. The guardians need to find these stones before he does.

There are many well-known characters with unique skills and abilities. Star-Lord and his team fight other characters one by one, who then become part of their alliance except for Bosses such as Dormamu. These unique abilities need to be considered when engaging in battles, as they can make or break the fight as well as progress in the game.

The team consisting of Star-Lord, Rocket and Groot, Gamora, and Drax arrive on an empty Kree Ship. Although the ship is empty it has some unusual energy that they try to trace finding eventually the Kree Accuser. They have to defeat him and then face the Geen Goblin who tries to take control of the ship.

Eventually, they fight their enemies and regain the stones, landing in various parts of the Universe such as Dark Dimension, Wakanda, and Hell. In the end, they face the members of the Black Order and Thanos.

Unlocking the characters and knowing how to use their abilities helps to progress in the game. Apart from battles, there are also various puzzle-like situations. The guardians need to get through toxic energy beams or get out of locked cells. Sometimes the guardians need to know simply how to escape. There are also separate battles such as Infinity trials that need to be completed. They also help with getting to know the moves and abilities. With its many twists and turns as well as surprising turns of events the game is both fun and engaging.
