Netherrealm forces fight against Earthfrealm. When the portal to the source of Earthrealm forces is opened, where Shinnok is fighting to gain the rule over Earthrealm against Raiden.

Shinnok was banned to the Netherrealm due to his interferences in the fight between Kahn and Liu Kang. He has an army of demons at his disposal. In his pursuit to rule the Earthfrealm he killed many gods, but he can be defeated despite making various alliances.

Mortal Kombat is a fighting game, where players fight against each using various weapons including the environment. They can use various moves, weapons such as dual swords, inferno variations, with spells that aid in the fight. There are moves that allow to kill the player if he quits during the game, certain moves are enhanced while the opponent can get the last attack.
