Super Mario Odyssey may be somewhat familiar as it explores a similar theme to those already covered in Super Mario Bros where Super Mario has to save Princess Peach from Bowser. The game though unravels in a completely new open world. Unlike in previous games the emphasis in on exploring rather than collecting. There are also many secrets and puzzles that need to be procured. The world is new and exciting with many places containing many opportunities for discoveries. There are temples, caves or space station. All these spaces are gigantic.
This time Mario is equipped with additional powers that are contained all in his cap with which he can control various creatures. He also has various moves as well as persona at his disposal. He can shoot or fly. He can triple jump as well as wall-jump.
In Super Mario Odyssey Mario’s first task is to recover Odyssey that allows Mario to chase after Bowser with the help of Power Moons that can restore it. They need to defeat Broodals and confront Bowser. Eventually, Bowser remains stranded on the moon, but this doesn’t mean that Mario won Peach who leaves with Cappy and Tiara.
Super Mario Odyssey is based on previous games such as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. As Mario accomplishes objectives to obtain Power Moons. There is a required minimum number that is needed to be able to accomplish other objectives as well as necessary achievements. This is the only way that Odyssey can be powered up. Mario’s cap also can be used as a weapon when thrown at objects, enemies or various characters. Even though Mario collects coins that are also taken from his if he suffers in some way or dies.
